1. Budget: Information: Very Inexpensive! We have celebrated Children’s Day on almost a zero budget. Our founder always wanted to show that everyone can celebrate Children’s Day anywhere in our state, nation and even in our world on a small amount of money. Almost every thing has been donated. Children’s Day is a givingness from the community to children and parents and to help create happiness for today and a better future for us all.
2. Uplifting Fun is important. Heart’s the most important thing! Prizes, and raffles are not necessary. Children’s Day is not so much about getting, it’s about giving & uplifting fun and learning.
Simplest Fun Recipe for Children’s Day
1. Encourage Everybody to Help Create Children's Day in their Community! 2. Always use The Children’s Day Theme. “Do Something Wonderful! - To Make Our World a Better Place!” “You’ll know what your project is because you’ll feel it in your heart.” Children’s Day is a gift that will keep on giving for generations to come. …Imagine all the good things that will show up in our world when people of all ages think about doing something wonderful every year.
3. Celebrate with a Children’s Day Picnic(s) in your community with old fashioned picnic games like: tug of war, sack races, relays, Mother May I, hula hoops, Capture the Flag, may poles, and children blowing pretty bubbles in the air. Share ideas with your family, with friends & neighbors too... What are you going to do? To Make Our World A Wonderful Place! You'll know what your project is because-- You'll feel it in your heart! And remember the child inside us All! Do things which are good for your family, a neighbor, even yourself, the community, the nation, the world, or for nature! Think about how what you do affects everything around you and future generations! That is Being Community Friendly.
4. Entertainment for and by young people. The children are the stars - mostly all local.
5. Link Children’s Day and Earth Day together and caring for our Earth.
6. Support Education and being a good citizen in our world. We have an Education & Good Citizens Project. Children’s Day is part of the Character Development Program of our school district.
Simple Plan for Expansions:
Here is our Children’s Day USA Basic Recipe
1. Spaces or booths or tabling with interactive uplifting, fun, educational experiences or art activities - spaces can be hosted by various community groups, organizations, agencies, churches, and businesses, which also gives them an opportunity to share who the they are and the good things they do. Spotlight parent education resources.
2. Stage Entertainment for and by young people. The children are the stars - mostly all local.
3. Children's Day Parade on site!
4. More Wonderful Possibilities Use many other uplifting creative ideas you think of!
There can be a new special focus annually. Ex. Literacy, Arts, Sports, Health, Ethics etc
5. It’s for all ages, because it’s for the Child Within Us All.
If you want you can even adapt your school carnival or school talent show to a celebrate Children's Day
